Customize the Grilled Cheese Sandwich to Your Liking
There are different types of grilled cheese sandwiches, but the basis is the same. In all of them, cheese and bread slices are the main ingredients. Only cheese and mayonnaise are used in this recipe, but you can add ham, mushrooms, garlic, mustard, or anything else to your cheese sandwich.
What You Need to Make This Sandwich
- Bread slices: You can use any bread slices you’d like here!
- Cheese: Thinly sliced cheddar cheese is in my opinion the best for this sandwich.
- Butter: We need butter to make the surface of the slices of bread golden brown.
- Mayonnaise: Usually, a little mayonnaise or mustard is rubbed on the bread to complete the taste.
How to Make Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Place the sliced bread on the counter or kitchen table. Cover one side of the bread with a thin layer of mayonnaise. Pour a little butter into a non-stick pan and let the butter melt over low heat. Place the bread slice in a non-stick pan (with the mayonnaise side facing up). Top with the cheddar cheese slices. Then place the remaining slice of bread on top. Cover the pan with the lid and cook for 5 minutes until the underside is golden brown. Turn sandwich and cook for another 5 minutes. Now the cheese is melted and our crunchy sandwich is ready.
