  • Spices: In this autumn spice cake, I only used cinnamon, but you can also add nutmeg, allspice, and cloves.
  • Softened butter: Most cake recipes use softened butter. If you forget to take the butter out of the fridge a few minutes before, chop the butter finely with a knife to soften it faster.
  • Brown sugar: Brown and white sugar have almost the same sweetness, but due to the moisture content of brown sugar, substituting it creates a completely different texture.
  • Egg

  • Cream cheese: To make the frosting of this cake, we need cream cheese at room temperature. Because we are not going to pipe this cream cheese frosting, you can also use soft and spreadable cream cheese.
  • Caramel sauce: I usually add a little caramel sauce and cinnamon to the frosting I make for apple cake. It also changes the color of frosting and brings it closer to the color of apple cake, and secondly, its taste harmonizes with the taste of the cake.
  • Heavy whipping cream
  • Granulated white sugar

Which frostings go well with apple cake? In my opinion, cream cheese frosting, salted caramel frosting, and cinnamon buttercream frosting are suitable for apple cake.

 

How To Make Cinnamon Apple Sheet Cake?

  • Prepare the ingredients and place them on the work table. All ingredients should be at room temperature. Measure the ingredients accurately with correct measuring cups and spoons.
  • In this recipe, you can use light or dark brown sugar as you wish.
  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix dry ingredients such as flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and other spices and salt.
  • In a large bowl, mix the sugar and softened butter with a mixer until soft. Something like 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Next, add the vanilla extract and egg and mix well.
  • Then add milk and mix with a mixer for 2 minutes.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in 3 steps and mix with a mixer for 1 minute each time.
  • Finally, add the diced apples and mix with the spatula. The batter of this cake is thick. Transfer the cake batter to the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool in the pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes.
  • To make the frosting, add softened cream cheese and sugar in a large, clean bowl and mix with a mixer until soft. Then add a little vanilla extract, cinnamon, and caramel sauce and mix. In another large bowl, whip cream with a mixer until it forms stiff peaks. Fold whipped cream into cream cheese mixture until fully combined.
  • Spread the frosting on the surface of the cake. Then cut the cake into equal squares.

  • 2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon + 1 teaspoon for frosting
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup apple diced
  • 1 (8 ounce) package, cream cheese
  • 1 cup granulated white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

Instructions
