It is true that chocolate milk can be easily found on the shelves of grocery stores, but in my mind, the homemade version tastes better. The big advantage of homemade chocolate milk is that you can easily adjust the amount of cocoa powder and sugar you add. This vegan chocolate milk is sweet, rich, and creamy. To make it all you need are 3 simple ingredients.
What You Need To Make Vegan Chocolate Milk
- Plant-based milk: I usually make this recipe with almond milk, but you can substitute it with your favorite plant-based milk.
- Cocoa powder: To minimize the cocoa powder lumps in the milk, you can sift it before use.
- Sweetener: Use sugar, maple syrup, honey, or even zero-calorie sweeteners.
Instructions
- Pour almond milk into a saucepan and heat on medium-low until warm.
- Stir in the cocoa powder and maple syrup and whisk with a hand whisk until the cocoa powder is fully dissolved.
- Remove it from the heat. Enjoy it hot or chilled.
