Chai latte is a hot drink based on various spices that are mixed with warm milk like a latte. Chai latte is very similar to masala tea, but the ingredients and method of preparation are slightly different from masala chai.

 

What Do You Need to Make Homemade Chai Latte?

It is the use of special and suitable spices that distinguishes chai latte.

  • Green cardamom: One of the best spices that can be used, which creates a warm taste and aroma.
  • Clove: Clove has a subtly sweet flavor that lends plenty of warmth to any drink.
  • Nutmeg: Nutmeg gives a fresh, rich aroma and a woody, bittersweet flavor to the chai latte. 
  • Cinnamon: Gives sweet taste and a great aroma to any drink.
  • Fresh ginger: The flavor of fresh ginger is slightly peppery and sweet.
  • Milk
  • Black teabag
  • Sugar

 

How To Make Chai Latte

First of all, we add two glasses of water to a saucepan; add cardamom pods, cloves, a little nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger, and let it boil. When the mixture boils, remove it from the heat and let it rest for five minutes. Then we add 3 tea bags into it and turn on the heat again, boil it for another five minutes and remove it from heat. Pass syrup through a strainer. For a latte, we add milk to a saucepan and turn off the heat as soon as it reaches the boiling point, we do not boil it. Add sugar to the milk and mix. Froth milk with a milk frother. Mix brewed chai and milk.

  • 2 small slices of fresh ginger
